Bronco Legacy Circle

Since the University was founded, the largesse of philanthropists has helped shape its history. Advances in research, student scholarships and state-of-the-art facilities are made possible in part by dedicated donors. The University's continuing success is bolstered by the leadership, passion, and unwavering commitment of individuals whose generosity has earned them membership in the Bronco Legacy Circle.

With their extraordinary philanthropy and spirit of devotion, members of the Bronco Legacy Circle lay the foundation for Fayetteville State University's future in this millennium and beyond. They also take their rightful place alongside such visionaries as David A. Bryant, Nelson Carter, Andrew J. Chesnutt, George Grainger, Matthew Leary, Thomas Lomax, and Robert Simmons, and other pivotal figures in the University's proud history.
The founder's bequests and those planned gifts that others have made to the university have helped to build Fayetteville State University and to strengthen its programs of teaching, research and public service. Members of this legacy society understand the nature of the university as a living, growing entity.  To join the Bronco Legacy Circle, the investor must have provided FSU with a copy of their will indicating FSU as a beneficiary or be a participant in a planned or deferred gift such as an annuity or charitable lead trust. The minimum gift to join the Bronco Legacy Circle is $25,000.00 effective July 1, 2014.

The Bronco Legacy Circle recognizes the alumni and friends who have remembered FSU through a planned gift or bequest.  It has two distinct branches:

The C. I. Brown Club

The Katie C. Forshee Club

named for the late Dr. C.I. Brown, are those members whose financial commitment to the University have been made in outright cash via a bequest or will or another deferred gift program.

named for the late Ms. Katie C. Forshee are those members whose financial commitment to the University have been made through a gift of real property or other asset, other than cash, via a bequest or will or another deferred gift program.

The members of the Bronco Legacy Circle will receive invitations to all university-wide events and receive personalized updates on the university. In addition, they will be recognized with a bronze medallion suspended from a white and blue ribbon (University's official colors) at an annual luncheon, hosted by the Chancellor, FSU leadership and student leadership. At events, such as Fall Convocation, Commencements, and Founders' Day, members of the Bronco Legacy Circle will be invited to process into the ceremony with the Chancellor and invited dignitaries.

Members of the Bronco Legacy Circle will also have their names engraved in the "Bronco Legacy Wall" located in the newly renovated lobby of the J.W Seabrook Auditorium.  It is the fervent desire of the University family to recognize those donors now that are designating FSU in their will or making a deferred gift in order to provide for the university's future.  The charter members, the Founding Chapter, will be acknowledged in all of ways described above and also in a feature article in FSU's own quarterly magazine, FS&U.
You may designate the destination of your gift or allow the leadership of the university to decide on its best use.
